The essential point: Opora PL is a reference and assistance tool. It is not an emergency service. In a dangerous situation, call 112, 997 or 999 directly. The app does not summon help automatically and cannot guarantee that your message will be delivered or that your coordinates will be accurate.
By installing or using the Opora PL app (the "App") you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.
The App is published by its developer ("we", "the Publisher").
The App helps a person in Poland act faster in a difficult situation: prepare a message with their current location, quickly call a trusted person or an emergency number, and find the right phrase in Polish.
This is the key clause of these Terms. Please read it carefully.
The App only prepares an action — you perform it:
We do not and cannot guarantee that:
The App may not work without an internet connection, with location services turned off, with permissions denied, or on a low battery.
Emergency numbers (112, 997, 999 and others) are intended solely for genuine emergencies. Use them only for their intended purpose. Making a false emergency call is an offence under Polish law, and the user bears responsibility for it.
The phrases and their translations are informational reference material. They are not a professional translation, nor legal, medical or any other professional advice.
We make an effort to keep the phrases correct, but we do not guarantee that they are accurate in every context. Where exact wording matters (a medical examination, dealing with law enforcement, signing documents), seek help from a qualified interpreter or lawyer.
Likewise, the reference phone numbers in the useful-numbers section are provided for convenience; we do not control whether they remain current and are not responsible for the operation of those organisations.
You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, including tracking another person without their knowledge and consent, harassment, threats, or misuse of emergency services.
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Publisher is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental or consequential — arising from the use of or inability to use the App, including consequences of inaccurate location, an undelivered message, a call that did not connect, or the acts or omissions of third parties.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and do not limit consumer rights granted by mandatory provisions of law.
The App, its content, phrase texts, design and name belong to the Publisher and are protected by law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
We may update these Terms. The current version is always available at this address, with the effective date shown at the top. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the new version.
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.
